manzanita canes & staffs

Picture
My husband has a creative streak that ebbs and flows.  He takes great pride in making these Manzanita walking sticks and spends many hours trekking through northern California woods  selecting just the right pieces of Manzanita branches from which to create these  fabulous canes and staffs.  He handworks them to showcase the wonderful browns  and golds, and highlight the inherent knots and nubs he knew were there when he  selected the branch.  A natural Tung oil is then hand-rubbed on which allows the wood to breathe.  Each one is a piece of wood-worked art.

standard & fancy

My husband makes two types of canes and staffs, "standard" and "fancy."  Both are made from beautiful pieces of manzanita wood, ones that have been fully finished, hand rubbed and coated with tung oil.

A "fancy" cane or staff, however, is from either an exceptionally beautiful piece of wood, or one which has been carved or treated in a way that makes it even more special than a "standard" cane or staff.

All canes have a rubber tip at  the end.
