quilts

Many have started a quilt only to discover there is more to it than meets the eye, something I quickly learned myself!  A quilt is more than fabric, batting and stitches.  It requires diligence and patience and is time consuming, but the end result  is a creation of the soul, something to be admired, and a true work of art.  My quilt club makes quilts for U.S. troops and I recently saw a PBS show on the Quilts of Valor  program.  One of the novices being coached to make her first soldier quilt said, "It takes quite a lot to make a quilt" the point being they are not easily thrown together, but are true labors of love in EVERY respect.

For me, quilt making is about the process of selecting the fabrics, and the satisfaction of creating something unique and special.
